2K Sports is going to increase the player rating for Stephen Curry in NBA 2K16 to a near perfect 99. This rating will only last for a limited time.
This promotion is all thanks to Under Armour who are celebrating Stephen Curry’s consecutive year being named the season MVP in the NBA. They are also releasing a shoe pack in NBA 2K16 with the words “MVP” on his Under Armour shoes.
The press release states: “Beginning at 3 pm PST/6 pm EST on Thursday, May 12, NBA 2K16 players will be able to download a roster update that brings Stephen’s rating to 99 for 30 continuous hours, a reference to his jersey number. The update will also unlock a brand new MVP colorway of the Curry Two in game, which will be an equippable shoe going forward”
Curry has been noted to be one of the best shooters in NBA history. The real-life Curry was actually outperforming his video game counterpart. 2K Sports had to frantically update his stats in NBA 2K16 throughout the season in order to keep up.
It will be interesting to see how big his rating will be when NBA 2K17 releases later this year. If Curry keeps up the good play, he will no doubt be the highest rated player again.
