A new system software update is now available for you to download on the PS4 console. This takes the firmware update to version number 4.06.
The next time you boot up your PS4, you will be prompted to download this update. You cannot log into the PSN or be online unless this update is installed.
The main feature in version PS4 update 4.06 is: “This system software update improves the quality of the system performance“. That was all the notes that was given by Sony. It’s not a huge update as you can tell from that one sentence.
Still, the update itself is 312.3MB. If you have a decent internet connection, it shouldn’t take you that long to download and install. Some patches for video games are actually bigger than this firmware update.
Sony may have updated the quality of the console in order to fix some niggling bugs for Pro owners. Some Pro owners have had trouble with their picture feed. Others have seen a drop in performance for specific video games.
Anyway, this update is for all owners of the PlayStation 4. As aforementioned, you should download it ASAP if you want to access online services on the PSN.
