Sony might be ready to announce a new 1TB PS4 console at E3 2015.
As spotted by DualShockers, the Federal Communications Commission has registered two new PS4 console models recently. One is an updated version of the 500GB model, while the other holds a 1TB hard drive.
The updated 500GB PS4 model number is CUH-1215A while the 1TB has a model number of CUH-1215B. In the documents provided, you can see that a PS4 model with a 1TB hard drive will be on its way eventually.
Upon further digging, the new PS4 console models are set to use less power. Not only that, but they will be slightly lighter too. The current model weighs 2.8kg. The new models that will be coming out are only 2.5kg. The consoles aren’t exactly the PS4 slim yet, but it’s a start in the right direction.
With that being said, it’s highly likely the 1TB PS4 console will be revealed soon at E3 2015. With every game needing to be installed, hard drive spaces have been filling up quickly. The 1TB hard drive will be much larger than the 500GB that is currently sold as default.
It remains to be seen if the 1TB PS4 console will be priced higher than the current model, or if it will be sold at same price. If so, a price cut for the 500GB could be coming if the 1TB model is set at the current same price.
