‘I stopped eight wars’: Trump’s response when confronted about his dead-of-night letter takes bizarre turn

He can't stop talking about it, though.

President Trump gave a confusing answer when reporters asked him about his recent letter that connected his Nobel Peace Prize interest to threats against Greenland. When asked about the letter, the president said he doesn’t care about the award at all. He claimed his real focus was on saving lives because he had already “stopped eight wars.”

This strange incident is another twist in the ongoing story about the Nobel Peace Prize. Just days after he took the award away from 2025 recipient MarĂa Corina Machado, the president sent a harsh letter to Norway.

According to Mediaite, President Trump complained in the letter that because “your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize,” he no longer felt “an obligation to think purely of Peace.” He claimed he deserved the award for “having stopped 8 Wars PLUS.”

Trump denies caring about the prize despite writing an entire letter about it

Reporters caught up with the president late Monday night as he was leaving the college football championship game in Miami. Despite all the public lobbying and international letters, his response was a complete denial.

When a reporter asked, “Can you speak to your letter that you wrote to the Prime Minister, saying that the Nobel Prize influenced your thinking on Greenland?” President Trump was clear. “No, I don’t care about the Nobel prize,” he said, which is confusing since his entire letter was about not getting the prize.

He then claimed the process is rigged against him. “If anybody thinks that Norway doesn’t control the Nobel Prize! They’re just kidding,” he said, adding, “They have a board, but it’s controlled by Norway. And I don’t care what Norway says.” The president has been active in foreign policy matters, recently sending a stark warning to ISIS.

The prize is not actually awarded by the Kingdom of Norway itself, but the president seems convinced otherwise. He quickly changed the topic, claiming his true focus is “saving lives” and stating, “I think I’ve saved tens of millions of lives.”

The conversation took an even stranger turn when he detailed his supposed peacekeeping efforts. He pointed to potential conflicts between India and Pakistan, describing them as two nuclear powers that were brought back from the brink. He also mentioned other nations “that were in a 30, In some cases, a 35-year war, and I got it done.”

Trump has also been vocal about calling for Iran’s leadership change as part of his foreign policy approach. President Trump concluded his late-night remarks by stating, “We stopped eight wars, and maybe we’ll be stopping a ninth very soon. We’ll see.” The factual records don’t support the claim that he has actually “stopped 8 Wars PLUS.”
