Marketing has become much more interesting than it has in the past and game trailers are no different. Ubisoft has released an interactive trailer of Assassin’s Creed 4 on their website called Horizon.

How is it interactive you ask? The trailer can be paused at will by a click of the mouse and at certain points in the trailer, there are clickable Pirate Assassin Logo with the skull in it. When you click them, they pop up a little window with the “exclusive item” ranging from the classes of ships you will find on the sea, some pictures of some famous pirates such as Annie Bonny and Charles Vane who will undoubtedly feature in Assassin’s Creed 4.

You even get a glimpse at some 360 portraits of some crew members of the Jackdaw (Edward Kenway’s ship) to see the details of their faces and a panorama of a Mayan viewpoint courtesy of a short clip of Edward Kenway synchronizing.

It’s not just all exclusive items though, there is a trailer of Assassin’s Creed 4 to talk about! Within the actual trailer itself. You get a few more glimpses of Edward Kenway swimming underwater with manta rays and other sea life. There is also a glimpse of the potential for what looks like Havana to be a proper urban sprawl similar to the Romes and Florences of older Assassin’s Creed games.

It also appears that the Assassin’s Creed 4 developers are sprucing up naval combat a bit more with some new ammunition types such as mortars and fire barrels (gleaned from one of the ‘exclusive items’). This trailer has now pretty much confirmed that we have our first dual wielding Assassin in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, guns and hidden blades not included.

Click here to take a look at the interactive trailer and see if you can find all 13 of the “exclusive items” in the trailer.

Hints: The first item appears roughly at the end of the quote in black and white and the last one is found near the end as you get a full side shot of the Jackdaw sailing across the screen. You will need need a smartphone to look at the last item.
