With only a couple weeks to go until the Japanese release for Bayonetta 2, Nintendo held another single game focused Nintendo Direct last night for Platinum Game’s upcoming title. We learned plenty of new information, including a new costume for Bayonetta and a new playable character for online co-op mode, but we also got further details on how the game itself will be packaged for sale when it releases in the US on October 24.
If you are buying the retail version of the game, the game features a MSRP of $59.99 and will come with both the new Bayonetta 2 and a special edition of the original Bayonetta for Wii U that we learned about awhile ago. However, if you are choosing to buy the game through the Nintendo eShop, it will be a little different. You will actually have to buy the two games separately on the Wii U eShop, but upon doing so, a special discount will be applied that will bring the total for the two together to only $59.98.
As a result, you will save a big whopping penny. Regardless, it is good to see that this deal will apply to the digital version for sure, as early reports had only mentioned the retail version getting this additional classic Bayonetta game as well. No information was given on how much the original Bayonetta would cost separately, but with as good as the sequel is looking, there is no reason not to just buy the new one and get the original for free alongside it essentially.
