If you live in the UK, you will be very unhappy to hear that Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew will not be available for you to download on Steam.
Steam is the most popular digital distribution avenue for PC gamers. Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew however will only be available via Uplay and other places for UK gamers. Uplay is Ubisoft’s own digital distribution platform.
Speaking to PCGamesN, Ubisoft said “We’ve been in discussions with Valve about Assassin’s Creed Unity but for the time being the game is not available via Steam in the UK”
It’s odd that Ubisoft didn’t give a reason as to why Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew will be missing on Steam for UK gamers. They just mentioned PC gamers can purchase these games via Uplay, retail stores or other digital distribution services.
PCGamesN suspects its the price Ubisoft wants for these games that are preventing them from appearing on Steam. PC games on Steam usually cost £40 or less. Uplay currently lists Assassin’s Creed Unity for £49.99 on PC. A bit expensive, but not as much as the £55 price tag the PS4/Xbox One versions have.
Are you disappointed that Assassin’s Creed Unity, The Crew and Far Cry 4 won’t be appearing on Steam in the UK?
