Blizzard announces StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void

Today at Blizzcon during the convention’s opening ceremonies, Blizzard announced  StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void .  Surprising nearly noone, the third act of the real time strategy title has been known of for some time.  A trailer for the expansion was revealed to convention goers, and focuses on the Protoss element of the StarCraft 2 storyline.

The fate of all characters are said to be revealed in the final chapter of StarCraft 2.

Legacy of the Void is a stand-alone product, not necessary to own the first two games.  New multiplayer units for all three races will be introduced in Legacy of the Void.

No release date was set for Legacy of the Void.
