One of the complaints that many have had about Nintendo over the years has been their use of the same IPs over and over, though they continue to maintain excellent quality regardless. However, Nintendo surprised us all during their Nintendo Digital Event surrounding E3 last year with the announcement of Splatoon. While there is no set release date yet, Nintendo is planning on Splatoon being their next big game, as they are already starting the marketing push.

According to a member of the gaming forum NeoGAF, Nintendo of America is starting the hype machine for Splatoon already. This came courtesy of the image on the right, which shows off a display in their local GameStop store. The slogan “Color Your World” is a great choice by Nintendo’s marketing team for Splatoon, as it not only fits the game, but also the colorful brand that Nintendo continues to promote.

Also of note is how Splatoon is put right next to both an amiibo and Mario Party 10 display. Obviously, GameStop would keep the Nintendo stuff together, but considering the recent rumors of amiibo integration in Splatoon or even its own amiibo line, it is quite interesting. Hopefully with the marketing for the game cranking up, we’ll finally get the much awaited release date soon.
