Yoshi’s Woolly World was announced a good while ago for the Wii U and was originally scheduled to arrive at some point in the first half of 2015, with rumors putting it out in June. However, today’s Nintendo Direct has revealed that it will be coming a little later than expected.

Yoshi’s Woolly World will now arrive sometime this fall, exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U. This isn’t a major surprise, especially considering that The Legend of Zelda Wii U was delayed and Nintendo will need some big releases to fill the fall and holiday season.

The announcement of a new release window was not the only information provided in this Nintendo Direct though, as it was also revealed that a special amiibo line will be coming as well that is different than anything that has come before it. Instead of the hard plastic used on all previous amiibo, the Yoshi’s Woolly World line of amiibo will consist of three special Yarn Yoshi amiibo.

As can be seen in the above image, there will be a Yarn Yoshi amiibo based on the typical Green Yoshi, with a Pink and Blue one coming as well. amiibo collecting is getting more and more expensive, but at least these are rather unique and will look very different on the shelf next to other amiibo.
