As has become the annual tradition, the Steam Winter Sale dates have been leaked for 2015 by a PayPal email to customers. According to the email, the sale will begin on December 22nd, which fits perfectly with previous sales for the holidays. It also fits with the previous leak that gave us the Autumn Sale dates as well. No official end date was given, but it’s easy to guess that it will last through the weekend, most likely coming to a close on December 28th.
The Steam Winter Sale is the other major discount period of the year, along with the Summer Sale. There are other special events throughout the year, such as the recent Autumn Sale, but these are the two where the big discounts usually happen across the board. Expect to see some really good sales on games throughout the Steam catalog.
However, as we saw with the previous sale, the proceedings have changed quite a bit. Valve has done away with the daily deals and lightning discounts, instead opting for a single discount that lasts throughout the sale. This means that you won’t have to check and re-check the Steam Store throughout the sale period, trying to nab the best discount that you can. Instead, you’ll just want to check it and find out what games fit your budget, then buy them all at once.
