Nintendo has announced its financial earnings for the last quarter that ended and it has updated its sales figures for the Wii U, 3DS and more.
Nintendo released its latest financial report via two PDF files in which you can read in full detail by clicking here and here. If you cannot be bothered reading huge documents, we’ll be giving you a summary of the highlights.
The lifetime Wii U sales figures have now been updated and the console has sold over 12.6 million units worldwide. In the last three months, the console managed to ship 1.87 million units over the Holiday season.
The 3DS is still a stronger performer as lifetime sales for the portable now stand at over 57.94 million units with the Holiday season shipping 3.6 million consoles.
Two of the Wii U’s best games of 2015 have also sold pretty well. Splatoon has sold over 4.06 million copies since release while Super Mario Maker sold 3.34 million units. Mario Kart 8 appears to be one of the Wii U’s best selling games ever notching 7.24 million in sales.
With rumors that the Nintendo NX will be both a handheld and home console, it will be interesting to see how this will affect the sales of the Wii U and 3DS in the near future.
