Nintendo recently revealed the details regarding their replacement for the now defunct Club Nintendo, called My Nintendo, revealing it’s coming next month. However, we have now learned that the company is shooting for a very high number when it comes to members they want to join the program worldwide.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima spoke with investors at the recent shareholder briefing and said that the company is aiming for 100 million members to start with. Nintendo is planning to reach this big milestone as soon as possible, as Kimishima says that, “the bigger the size of My Nintendo, the greater the enjoyment and value we will be able to provide to our customers.”

Nintendo Account will allow members to download games on their Wii U and 3DS’ by first purchasing them from the services’ web or mobile client. Platinum Points can be earned to purchase for digital content, while Gold Points are used for discounts.

Even though Nintendo Account is set to launch by the end of next month, there are other features that will be coming to the service post-launch. One of these is the ability to manage friend lists and get perks at retails stores. The service will also be tied into the company’s upcoming mobile games, even though an account won’t be specifically required to play them.
