The 2016 DICE Awards have come to a close, and the game that took home the top honor was Bethesda’s Fallout 4. It also won awards for RPG and MMO Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction.
Two other games also took home 3 awards apiece, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt winning for Outstanding Achievement in Story, Outstanding Technical Achievement and Outstanding Achievement in game design, while Ori and the Blind Forest won Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Animation and Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction.
The ceremony also included a tribute to the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who was presented with a lifetime achievement award. The award was accepted by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, who gave a touching speech about Iwata that ended with, “Mr. Iwata, you were the best of us. You will never be second to us. You’ll always be number one.”
