After Harmonix dropped Mad Catz from Rock Band, it left many wondering what it meant for the future of the series and who could potentially take their place. The company has now revealed that they have teamed up with Performance Designed Products (PDP) to co-publish Rock Band.

Harmonix CEO, Steve Janiak, said the following: “As we look to fully achieve our goal of creating this console generation’s category-defining music gaming platform, we need to partner with a truly world-class manufacturer that can operate at the scale that Rock Band requires. PDP has a well-deserved reputation for innovation, customer satisfaction, and quality. They have the logistical and technical expertise to support Harmonix’s ambitious plans for the future of Rock Band, with new hardware alongside a major Rock Band 4 feature update coming this fall.”

Despite the breakup with Mad Catz, controllers made by the publisher will continue to be sold and supported for Rock Band. Mad Catz recently had to cut 37% of its staff, with many leading job positions being resigned from.

Rock Band 4 is also in the middle of its crowdfunding campaign on Fig to bring the game to PC. Harmonix is looking for $1,500,000 and has raised around $360,000 as of this writing with 28 days left to go.
