CD Projekt RED has been enjoying immense success with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with the numbers they have been putting up on the sales side of things being incredibly impressive. It has just been revealed that the developer has made over $8.5 million in profit just in the first quarter of 2016.
This is great news for the developer, who had actually been losing money during this same time last year. A recent polish article (translated on Reddit) featured studio vice president Piotr Nielubowicz, where he said the following:
“Financial results in recent quarters testify to the fact that the Prime Minister was Witcher us to a whole new level of activity. The first quarter of this year is the third consecutive quarter after the release of continued strong sales of The Witcher and record the results of the Group.”
The president of the company, Adam Kiciński, also chimed in regarding the strong sales, saying the following:
“Good RPG sell for years, and we can animate this sale in order to sustain the interest of the players. May 10 announced the start of the second additive pre – Blood and Wine, which will premiere on May 31, that is, in less than three weeks. We hope that players such as industry journalists, take him very well.”
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is set to be the final expansion for the game, which is set to launch on May 31st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
