Pokemon is one of the biggest franchises in all of gaming, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary. The series has brought us plenty of different games over the years, but their latest may be their most ambitious yet with Pokemon Go, which is now available in the US for download.
Pokemon Go comes from developer Niantic, known for the location based Ingress previously. They have built on this existing model to bring Pokemon to mobile devices where you literally can catch them all in real world locations.
While the game has gone through beta phases, the official game finally launched in New Zealand and Australia yesterday, with a small rollout elsewhere. However, the wait is over for everyone else as it is now available on both iOS and Android through the App Store and Google Play store respectively.
Pokemon Go comes in at 100 MB on iOS, while the Android version is listed at 58 MB. However, these can increase upon download with updates, so prepare to clear a little more space.
Also, as we told you earlier today, make sure to have a fully charged phone if you are planning to use Pokemon Go. I personally haven’t had as bad of issues as the early reports indicated, but it definitely will drain it faster than if you did not have it installed.
