Take-Two knows that a lot of people want to hear more information about Red Dead Redemption 2. They said they want to make the customer happy before talking about monetization schemes.

Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, talked more about Red Dead Redemption 2 during the company’s most recent earnings call. He confirmed that the game will have an online component, but they won’t be sharing information about microtransactions or anything like that yet.

He said the approach for Take-Two as a company is to “delight the customer first” before they talk about earnings revenue and things like that. This means we may not hear of microstransactions or future DLC for the game until closer to its release date.

This is probably a good approach as too many gaming companies these days announce Season Passes and DLC way before a game even comes out. There was some controversy over the way Evolve was announced as some of its DLC was leaked before even the game was officially revealed.

Thanks to Red Dead Redemption 2, Take-Two is raising its forecast for next year. They expect to earn a lot of money from that game when it hits next year for the PS4 and Xbox One. It potentially could be the biggest seller of 2017.
