Niantic is rolling out a nearby tracking feature to more areas outside of just the United States. It might be easier to catch Pokemon now.
Niantic posted more details of the new Pokemon Go feature over on the official website. The nearby feature can be seen if you are near to a Pokestop.
The nearby and sightings feature is rolling out in the following areas/countries:
- United States of America: All states west of the Mississippi River (except Hawaii and Alaska)
- Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario.
- Australia: All states and territories
They are still testing out this feature so they want you to give them feedback. The in-game tracking feature has been criticized since launch and Niantic removed the original one altogether.
They have been trying to improve the tracker ever since so this new feature might be better. Don’t worry if you live outside USA, Canada or Australia because the new feature is still in the testing phase. They won’t roll it out worldwide unless it is in its final form.
Have you been able to use the new feature in Pokemon Go? If so, is it reliable or is it still not that great?
