Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s, likes to occasionally update his website with cryptic teasers and messages. Not long ago, Scott updated one of his websites, scottgames.com, with images that many fans believe were teasing the next Five Nights at Freddy’s novel, The Twisted Ones, which comes out soon. Around the same time, he also updated his other website, fnafworld.com, with an image many interpret to be a teaser for the next Five Nights at Freddy’s game, likely a follow-up to Sister Location. But today (June 26), Scott has updated scottgames.com again and this time it’s even more cryptic.
Upon going to scottgames.com now, you will be met with a large image of static, as seen above. The Scott Games logo still appears at the top of the webpage, but other than that, the entire website it just static. Not even Scott’s contact information is there anymore. The image file is called “interrupt.jpg.” There really isn’t any other solid information given. There don’t appear to be any secret messages in the image itself or its source code, as has been the case for many of Scott’s previous Five Nights at Freddy’s teasers. (Well, at least there haven’t been any messages found YET.)
The Five Nights at Freddy’s fanbase has been freaking out over this new image, trying to figure out what it means. It appears that only thing they’ve been able to figure out is today, the day the image went up, June 26, is a day known in the Five Nights at Freddy’s lore as the day of the Missing Children Incident as detailed in a newspaper clipping in the first game. Fans assert that “interrupt” may refer to the murderer interrupting the security cameras’ feeds to get away with the murders. It also seems a bit more than coincidental that scottgames.com previously teased images related to The Twisted Ones, and now the website changes again, one day before the book’s release date, so it’s possible that this new image is further teasing the novel. Regardless, fans are expecting Scott to update the website again soon with some more substantial information.
