Destiny 2:  Curse of Osiris is releasing in early December, but we recently got a chance to go hands-on with the expansion.  If you missed our walkthrough of the first story mission for the DLC where you’re re-introduced to the Lighthouse, Brother Vance, and other characters and locations of the content, check that out here.

Today we’re taking a tour of the new planet, Mercury.  In this gameplay video we’re going to do a little exploration of the new zone, which includes one of the new Public Events in the zone, exploration of one of the new Lost Sectors, and a tour of the Lighthouse.

Curse of Osiris Mercury Exploration Gameplay

While Mercury is by no means the largest zone that’s found in Destiny 2, it does seem quite dense.  As you can see in the videos, there are enemies at every turn, with numerous public events going on as the Cabal fight the Vex in some areas around the map.

The new Public Event features a heroic variant to it, but we did not unlock that in this gameplay.  However, the traveling between portals across the map is something quite different than other public events in the game.

We stumbled across the Lost Sector of the zone, and it’s quite similar to those found in vanilla Destiny 2.  You’ll find us wandering deep into the depths of Mercury to take on the Vex with the reward being a chest with reputation tokens that can be taken to Brother Vance to unlock some pretty cool gear (that we’re unable to show due to embargo).

Getting a chance to go back into the Lighthouse, you’ll notice that it’s not quite a full-fledged Social Space like the Tower or the Farm, but more like one of the areas on other planets where other vendors reside (ie: Devram Kay, Asher Mir, or others).  There do seem to be some secrets tucked away in the Lighthouse, but we didn’t get a chance to start figuring them out due to our limited time to explore.

You can find more of our Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris content right here on Attack of the Fanboy or on our YouTube channel.  We’ll have gameplay from the two new Crucible Maps that will release with Curse of Osiris next week so check back for that.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is slated to arrive on December 5th.
