Titanfall 2 Awareness Rises In the Wake of Apex Legends Success

At this point, everyone knows about Apex Legends and what a surprise it was. Despite no prior announcement or early access/beta, the game has gone onto reach an insane level of success with the game’s player base reaching 25 million in just one week since it’s launch. Strangely enough, this seems to be having an after effect for Respawn Entertainment’s other video game, Titanfall 2.

An excellent shooter in it’s own right, Titanfall 2 had the misfortune of being sandwiched between two major AAA releases during the holidays in 2016, Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. While the single player and multiplayer aspects of the game were widely lauded for their ingenuity, the player base dropped off not too long after it’s release. The games sales didn’t reach expectations for EA, and soon enough Titanfall 2 was discounted for most of the past two years.

Ironically, new threads on Reddit have popped up with players asking about the ill-fated game, and soon enough, people started to post images encouraging other to try it out. Whether this works out or not, it’s great to see so many gamers doing what they can to revive the community of Titanfall. We gave the game high praise in our review when it launched, with the highlight being the improved multiplayer and the outstanding single player campaign.

So while Apex Legends has taken over the gaming world, Titanfall 2 still resonates in the hearts of many. We still love playing it, and quite frankly, it’s one of our favorite multiplayer games ever. It’s a shame that it wasn’t appreciated as much when it first released, but it’s still better late than never. Titanfall 2 is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
