It may have leaked beforehand, but now it’s official. A new DLC for Borderlands 2 has officially been announced and it is available now.

During this year’s Xbox E3 briefing, Gearbox officially announced the “Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary” DLC for Borderlands 2. The purpose of this DLC is to bridge the stories of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, which comes out later this year. This DLC is available now for owners of either Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, as well as all previous DLC for both games. Luckily for Xbox players, The Handsome Collection is available starting today on Xbox Game Pass. The “Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary” DLC is available now for free, but it will only remain free for a limited time, as the DLC’s free period will end on July 8 at 11:59am PST/2:59pm EST. Despite the fact that it got revealed during the Xbox E3 showcase, the DLC is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Borderlands 2 and The Handsome Collection.

Meanwhile, Borderlands 3 is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13. You can watch the new trailer for the “Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary” DLC below.
