Sony announced two new characters to the roster of fighters in the upcoming PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.  This weekend at Evo, SuperBot revealed that Heihachi Mishima and Toro Inoue will both be making an appearance in the game.  Tekken fans will instantly recognize the popular fighter’s mainstay character in Heihachi, but Toro may be a bit of a stretch for fans outside of Japan.

Heihachi will have recognizable moves from the Tekken franchise, and Sony claims that “He excels at close range combat, overwhelming opponents with quick, powerful strikes.  Heihachi’s combo potential ranks among the best in the roster.”

Toro is Sony’s mascot in Japan, a title he’s held for the last decade.  Toro’s fighting style is said to be unique in that he can transition seamlessly from a close-range fighter to a ranged specialist in two different forms.

Sony also announced pre-order bonuses for the fighter, as well as a concrete release date.  If you pre-order at participating retailers, you’ll get a set of exclusive costumes when the game releases on October 23rd, 2012.
