We’ve yet to hear any news on sales figures for Borderlands 2, but the game released a short while ago to critical acclaim. The highly anticipated follow-up has drawn a cult-like following for its shoot and loot mechanics, and according to Gearbox Software’s Anthony Burch, the team is already mulling over the possibility of a sequel.

On a recent episode of “The Totally Rad Show”, Burch revealed that the team is already spitballing ideas for Borderlands 3. Borderlands 2 concluded with a finale that definitely leaves the door open for downloadable content down the line. The open-ended conclusion led many to speculate on the possibility of a third installment in the franchise, prior to Burch’s comments on the Revision 3 Internet Television Show.

Don’t expect any details about a third Borderlands title anytime soon however. These are just ideas being thrown around at this point, and Gearbox has yet to officially announce their downloadable content for the game, which is assumed to be extensive.
