Electronic Arts will kick-off E3 2018 with their annual EA Play Press Conference.  The publisher is expected to further reveal Bioware’s Anthem, Battlefield V, EA Sports titles, and more from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.

The Press Conference will lead off a week of events from EA where they’ll be giving media and attendees hands-on access with some of their biggest upcoming games.

E3 2018 will be one of the first spots for Electronic Arts to show fans that they’ve turned a corner after a number of missteps in 2017.  Their handling of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 left a bad taste in the mouths of many fans, and it just so happens that DICE has another big shooter on deck for later this year with Battlefield V.  It’s also a make or break year for another big studio at EA.  Bioware’s Anthem showed promise when it was revealed at last year’s convention and will likely be one of EA’s biggest games at this year’s show as we hear more concrete details about it.

Tune in for Electronic Arts E3 2018 Live Stream to hear more about these games and any other surprises that the publisher has in store.  The conference begins on June 9th at 2PM ET.

As expected, Bioware’s Anthem was one of the big focal points for EA during their E3 Press Conference.  A new trailer for the game was released, as well as a developer interview that featured three developers from Bioware to address some of the questions about the game.

Bioware reiterated their focus on story within the multiplayer focused game.

It was revealed that Anthem would feature world changing events that change the game for everyone whether that’s in how the world looks or the lore.  Four classes are available to choose from these are the Ranger, Colossus, Interceptor, and the Storm.  These suit are called Javelins and they each give you a new way to play the game.  These suits are piloted by players who are called Freelancers.

Anthem Classes

Ranger – General suit for up close and personal combat.

Colossus – Heavier more specialized that carries strong weapons to devastate the battlefield.

Paint jobs and the actual geometry of a suit can be customized by the player.  Bioware also touched on monetization for Anthem.  There will be no loot boxes or ability to pay for gameplay enhancing items.  “Feels like it’s complete from the get go,” according to Mark Darrah.

Solo play will be more difficult than cooperative experience in Anthem.

The release date for Anthem was revealed.  The game will release on February 22nd, 2019.
