Then Sony’s PS Plus hit, just a day before the games would become available for free. The Winner Is…
Man, what a shift from last month. May 2017 was a terrible offering from both PS Plus and Xbox Live Games with Gold, with me giving it to PS Plus really just off it having one better game and more games overall. And that is a hurdle every month for Xbox Live Games with Gold to overcome. With the deck stacked against them by only giving away four games as opposed to six, they have to go the extra mile to earn a victory. Usually they don’t do this, giving members older games, often that they already got from PS Plus. June 2017 is not one of those months though.
Xbox Live Games with Gold is the better service for June 2017. This victory comes from Microsoft giving players some truly great games, including a brand new game for Xbox One, though SpeedRunners has been available via other means for a while. And while Xbox also has the oldest games, stretching all the way back to 2009, those games are good ones that offer tons of hours of great gameplay.
PS Plus fought back with Life is Strange, a fantastic episodic, story-driven game. The rest of the selection is kind of middling though, making it tough to top the big hitters that Xbox rolled out for June 2017.
So, Xbox takes it for PlayStation Plus vs. Xbox Live Games with Gold for June 2017. Do you agree or disagree?
