Super Mario 3D World ($59.99)

Wii-U-15

The Wii U got a slew of amazing games in 2014, but it is still arguable that Super Mario 3D World is the best of all on the console. Many were disappointed when the game was first revealed, hoping instead for a new game in the vein of Super Mario Galaxy. However, upon release this proved to be one of the best Mario games we have ever seen to date, with incredible multiplayer action. The music is a combination of the best tracks over the years, along with some new tracks, making this the perfect Mario 3D experience.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD ($49.99)

Wii-U-16

The first major remaster on the Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD took the classic GameCube adventure and brought it into the HD age. Utilizing the GamePad well and making the game more accessible by adding a faster sail and simplifying the Triforce quest, The Wind Waker HD is one to own if you loved the original or are just looking to try it for the first time.

Pikmin 3 ($59.99)

Wii-U-17

Coming as one of the first major post-launch game titles on the system, Pikmin 3 is just like the classic Pikmin games on GameCube, but manages to be even better. The strategy elements are ever present here and with Olimar returning again in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, this time with an Alph costume,  it can be fun to see how the Pikmin do in action. If you aren’t so sure about this one, there is even a demo available for Pikmin 3 on the eShop that can be a good idea to try out first.

The Wonderful 101 ($29.99)

Wii-U-181

Platinum Games first outing on the Wii U, The Wonderful 101 is a superb action game that will be fun for anybody that loves the genre. The gameplay can get a little repetitive, but the fun story and the overall action makes this a must own in the collection, especially with the reduced price these days for the game.

New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U ($59.99/$29.99)

Wii-U-19

While Super Mario 3D World offers the perfect 3D Mario experience, New Super Mario Bros. U is the ultimate 2D Mario experience on the console. Now two years ago, the game still holds up very well by providing some of the best side-scrolling Mario action since the SNES and Super Mario World. This is a tall feat and feels almost underrated by this point. The companion game/DLC with Luigi enhances the experience even further as well.

Nintendo Wii Games (Prices Vary)

Wii-U-20

One of the best things about the Wii U is that ability to also play classic Wii games, giving the gamer an even larger library to choose from. If you have never owned a Wii, there are plenty of must own games. The two Super Mario Galaxy titles are ones that every gamer should play from beginning to end, while we have two fantastic entries in the Legend of Zelda franchise with Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Almost impossible to find for any good price these days, Metroid Prime Trilogy and Xenoblade Chroncles are amazing games to own for Wii as well if you can manage to somehow find them

The next and final page will cover a few of the top digital games to pick up on the Wii U.
