Assassin’s Creed Unity ($59.99)
While the series had begun to offer exclusive content on the PlayStation platform in recent times, Assassin’s Creed Unity has been promoted much more so on the Xbox One. Unlike with Black Flag, the two consoles were even in most cases, with the Xbox One reportedly having the most stable overall experience. Combining that with the fact that you can buy a Xbox One and get this game completely free with the bundle helps immensely too.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare ($59.99)
Another multi-platform game that is tied closely to the Xbox One is Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Dating back to the last generation, Microsoft has forged timed exclusivity agreements with Activision for the DLC associated with Call of Duty, which is exactly the case again this year. There is also a Call of Duty bundle as well that comes with a 1 TB hard drive that is not a bad option for those looking to get a bigger drive at the cost of $100 more. Either way, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is best bought on Xbox One for the DLC exclusivity.
FIFA 15 ($59.99)
The first of a few that were also on the PS4 gift guide list, FIFA 15 is the premier football game in the gaming landscape. Last generation, the series was most dominant on the Xbox 360 and while the PS4 has taken many of those away, the Xbox version still offers something that the PS4 doesn’t, exclusive content. By getting the Xbox One version of FIFA 15, you will receive special Legends that can be used in Ultimate Team. For those that would like to get this one, you can find it on sale for $39.99 at Target through December 20.
Madden NFL 15 ($59.99)
The reasoning for this game’s placement on the list is very similar to that of FIFA 15. The Xbox 360 was the strongest platform for the Madden series prior and there are likely many gamers that have kept with the series on Xbox One. While there is no extra content on the platform like with FIFA, Madden NFL 15 is still very worth picking up on Xbox One by providing the most fun defensive play in the series’ history. Not to mention the fact that the NFL playoffs are about to get cranked up, which will make you want to play some football. The great news is that Target also has this one for $39.99 for those looking to get it by this Saturday, December 20.
NBA 2K15 ($59.99)
The much stronger basketball option once again this year, 2K Sports have added a number of new features that makes NBA 2K15 worth checking out. As we are only a couple months into the current season, there is still plenty of time to get use out of this one, which honestly could be gotten on either platform. However, with the Kinect coming bundled with the console for the first year, the addition of face-scanning, albeit not the best working, is most usable on the Xbox One. For those looking to get the game, you can get it for half off at only $29.99 through Amazon right now.
Dragon Age: Inquisition ($59.99)
The last of the games to also appear on the PS4 list, Dragon Age: Inquisition is easily the best new RPG to release this year. While not as graphically strong as the 1080p on the PS4, Dragon Age: Inquisition features a more stable frame rate with many less drops on Xbox One. Even better, you can get the game for only $49.99 at Best Buy through December 20.
Just Dance 2015 ($49.99)
The latest in the annual series from Ubisoft, Just Dance 2015 takes the series to new heights with a soundtrack full of different genres, including popular songs like Frozen’s “Let It Go.” Adding in full dance routines on songs like that with animations based on the property made this game a blast and with a strong library of songs, this is definitely worth a look. Even if you don’t own a Kinect, you can technically play this by using your cell phone and an app, but it is really most recommended with the Kinect. Just like seemingly most other games on this list, this one is also on sale at Best Buy this week only, this one for $10 off at $39.99
The next and final page will focus on a few digital only games available on the Xbox One.
