Joe Jonas’ simple errand turned into a bizarre spectacle, he was attempting to do one totally normal thing

Props to Joe for being a jolly sport.

Pop star Joe Jonas recently found himself in a completely relatable, yet utterly embarrassing, situation when a New York resident captured him on video struggling mightily to parallel park on a Manhattan street, as per Daily Dot. This is the kind of everyday task that instantly turns into a public spectacle, especially when you’re a world-famous Jonas Brother, and frankly, I totally get why this video took off.

TikToker Neha Nas captured the hilarious moment. Nas recorded the whole parking struggle from inside a brick building, giving us a perfect, bird’s-eye view of Jonas edging back and forth, trying to make the maneuver happen. Maybe he should have taken a lesson from the viral parking strategy on TikTok. The text overlay that Nas used on the video was absolutely golden, stating, “I love New York because I’ve been watching Joe Jonas parallel park for the last 7 minutes.”

The video blew up almost instantly, spreading rapidly across TikTok and other social media sites. Since being posted, the video has racked up a massive number of interactions, hitting more than 11.6 million views and securing over 2.9 million likes. Those numbers show just how much people enjoy seeing celebrities deal with mundane, awkward challenges.

The best part, hands down, is how Jonas handled the sudden public shaming

Instead of getting defensive or ignoring the viral moment, he jumped right into the comments section with a joke of his own. He wrote, “And I saw you watch and not help once,” instantly turning the moment into a friendly back-and-forth with the TikToker. Nas didn’t miss a beat, replying and keeping the bit going by saying, “Listening. Learning. Will do better next time”. That level of good sportsmanship just makes the story so much better, and you’ve got to give him props for leaning into the humor.

Jonas clearly understands how to navigate a viral moment, which is a great move for any celebrity. He followed up the parking saga by posting an Instagram video where he was dramatically getting “thrown out” of a shop, complete with his jacket and scarf tossed out after him. He then walked down the street putting them on, fully committing to the joke.

His caption perfectly sealed the deal: “just finished up parallel parking from yesterday.” Even the commenters appreciated the dedication. One account, secret_nyc, commented on his video, saying, “Full circle moment for ya… maybe in a …parallel… universe you can parallel park”.

The overall sentiment seemed to be captured by a tweet from @tearsnessa, who summed up the viral scope perfectly, writing, “sending thoughts and prayers rn to joe jonas. nothings happened to him, but the video of him attempting to parallel park has 6 million views.” It’s a funny reminder that even when you’re a celebrity, some tasks, like parallel parking in Manhattan, are just universally awful. Maybe, not for Justin Bieber though, he probably knows how to handle his cars.
