For fans of the horror genre, everyone’s favorite fruit computer has been lacking in real power-punchers, but that soon changes with the news that Resident Evil Village will be making its way to the Apple ecosystem. If you’ve been looking to join in on Ethan Winter’s latest adventure, you’ll find yourself harnessing the power of the newest Mac computers to make your way through the glorious world that Capcom has created.
However, when will you be able to explore this expertly crafted piece of horror on the Mac? Let’s take a look at what we know, as well as what kind of Mac you may need to experience this title in its full glory. Here are all of the details that are currently available in regards to the Resident Evil Village Mac Port!
When Does Resident Evil Village Come To Mac?
While there is currently no concrete release date, you’ll be able to experience this masterclass of horror in Late 2022. With the release and reveal of the newest M2-powered Macs, you’ll be able to bring this world to life, in full 1080p/60fps on Macbook Air, whereas the Mac Studio should be able to achieve 4K/60FPS consistently.
All of that on a Macbook Air is something that sounds like a fever dream, but believe it! Mac is back, and they’re looking to get rid of the stigma of being over-priced and underwhelming for gaming by coming out of the gate swinging.
What Specs Do You Need To Run Resident Evil Village?
While there are no official specs, going by these aforementioned models, here are the specs that they contain.
M2-Macbook Air
- M2 Chip
- 8 Core CPU
- 16-core Neural Engine
- 8GB Ram
M1-Mac Studio
- M1 Max Chip
- 10-Core CPU
- 24-core GPU
- 16-core Neural Engine
- 32GB Ram
As you can see, even though the Mac Studio is using the M1 Max Processor, it’s able to pump out some great graphical performance due to its integrated GPU, a larger amount of RAM, and a 10-Core CPU. However, both of these Macs do come with some heavy price tags, with the Macbook Air running around $1,199 and the Mac Studio starting at $1,999.
And there we have it! If you haven’t played Resident Evil Village yet, you’ll find you’re in for a great return to form, and an excellent follow-up to the amazing Resident Evil 7. With the news of a Resident Evil 4 Remake, only time will tell if the newest entries in the franchise will make their way into the Apple ecosystem.
Resident Evil Village is on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be available on Mac later in 2022.
