Death Stranding: How to Fix or Repair Damaged Cargo, Packages, and Containers

Getting cargo from point A to point B is the core of the gameplay experience within Death Stranding. On top of that are a number of unique and interesting mechanics, but simply delivering your packages without ruining them with damage is the goal of practically every single mission you are tasked with. But while getting them there may be simple, requiring a lot of walking and/or driving but not too much in the way of strategic thought, the containers those packages are in can be damaged fairly easily. The cargo itself can be damaged as well, sometimes leading to it being totally ruined and useless. But there are ways to fix and repair them. Here’s a guide on how to fix or repair damaged cargo, packages, and containers in Death Stranding.

How to Fix or Repair Damaged Cargo, Packages, and Containers

The first answer you’ll want to know about is Container Repair Spray. This item is available very early in your 40+ hour adventure in Death Stranding and is the easiest and most readily available way to fix or repair cargo containers. Note though that it won’t repair the item itself, merely the container that houses it. Once the damage is too bad you’re out of luck, so be ready to repair quickly if you’re stuck in too much Timefall or lose your balance often. With all that said, here’s how to use Container Repair Spray.

Simply offload the item you wish to repair by bringing up the inventory menu, selecting it and choosing offload. This will drop it to the ground in front of Same. Now switch to the Container Repair Spray by holding right on the D-Pad and choosing it from the sub menu. Now just use it like any other object, holding L2 to aim and pulling R2 to fire. You have a set amount of spray to use, which should bring a container up to full health even from a very damaged state.

Similar, but not quite as easy are Timefall Shelters. These structures, which can be built with a PCC, will do exactly what their name implies. They shelter you from Timefall, offering an oasis of sorts among the chaos of the Death Stranding world. A side benefit is that upon first entering them they’ll spray some Container Repair Spray around the sheltered area. Any packages you have will be repaired, with upgraded Timefall Shelters offering more spray. These are a great way to repair items when you are out of your stock of spray.

Those are the many ways how to fix or repair damaged cargo, packages, and containers in Death Stranding.
