Dota Underlords How to Chat

In Dota Underlords you can chat and communicate with other players, though the method for doing so is a little unconventional.  As the game is in open beta, there is no traditional voice communication or text chat.  Instead, players can only chat or communicate in two ways.

The first is by using a group of preset phrases, where you can say things like “good game” or others.  You can open the dialogue window shown in the image above by clicking on your avatar in the top left corner of the screen.  Once you click on the avatar you will see a list of chat phrases.

There are currently:

  • Good Game!
  • It Ain’t Over Yet!
  • RNG Hates Me!
  • Today is my Lucky Day!
  • I Destroyed That Round!
  • Ouch, That Hurt!
  • My Power Grows!
  • Have Mercy!

To use these just click the avatar and then click the message that you want to send and it will be shown at the top of the screen.

There is another way that you can communicate with other players and you may have heard this already with the game repeatedly saying “Yo!” between rounds.  Anyone in the game can use this between matches if you know where to look.  On the activity feed at the top of the page between rounds the results of the battles will scroll and on the right of that banner will be a small icon that says “Yo!” in a a comments bubble.  Just click on this icon and you will hear your reaction to the event.  You can only click on each event one time, but you can click on multiple event notifications.
