Injustice 2 has finally arrived and with it comes a large roster of characters to play with. Outside of the pre-order bonus Darkseid that can be purchased separately, the rest of the current roster is available in the game. One of these isn’t available right from the start though, as you will have to actually unlock Brainiac.
Brainiac is the main villain in Injustice 2 and NetherRealm Studios doesn’t want you playing as him right away. Instead, there is one way to unlock him currently, with another set to come at a later time.
The first method for unlocking Brainiac in Injustice 2 is to simply play through the game’s story mode. Considering he is the main villain, you will face him later in the story mode, with him being unlocked in the game after you finish it.
Interestingly enough, there is actually another method of unlocking Brainiac that is advertised in the game, though it isn’t available yet. That is to actually purchase him. Darkseid is purchasable outside of the game from the Xbox Store and PSN Store, but he isn’t unlockable in the game itself otherwise.
However, the game states you can unlock Brainiac by completing story mode or purchasing him from the store. When you try to go to the store though, it says he is not available. Considering you can just get him by finishing story mode, there is absolutely no reason to spend money on him.
