John Wick can kill pretty much anything, but in the newly released game John Wick Hex it might take more effort than you thought. Random enemies usually just take a few punches, or gun shots, but sometimes bosses show up that require much more focus and attention. The game gives you a quick idea of what to do, but we wanted to break it down in simpler terms. Here’s how to beat bosses in John Wick Hex.
How to Beat Bosses
Keep in mind, this is a generic guide for how to beat bosses, not a breakdown of individual strategies. For that keep checking back or let us know what you need help with in the comments below. Most bosses follow the same formula though, and require the same base strategy, so let’s break that down. In short, it all involves Focus, that somewhat mysterious element of the gameplay.
Each character in John Wick Hex has two status bars of sorts. Health is how you kill them, but Focus allows them to be more nimble, dodging shots and attacks. For bosses their Focus is so high that you typically can’t hit them with gunshots without dropping it significantly. So how to you drop their Focus? You need to get up close and personal for some hand-to-hand combat.
Get close to the boss, taking out their henchmen if they’re in your way, then do as much damage as possible before you need to retreat. Takedown is your best bet since it incapacitates them for a few seconds, giving you time to take out other threats or retreat for a better attack later. Their Focus will drop with each attack, but they can regain it. Once it is a bit low you can start chipping away at their large health bar, taking shots when you can. Just keep on the move, crouching and rolling in and out of cover, if possible.
Be patient and follow these directions and you’ll know how to beat bosses in John Wick Hex.
