While many items in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening are unlocked as you journey and have a more specific purpose, the many Secret Seashells you stumble across will appear anytime and aren’t fully explained. There is something you’re supposed to do with them, of course, but the game waits for you to figure it out. Well we’re not that patient, so here’s what to do with Secret Seashells in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch.
What to do with Secret Seashells
The answer is found far away from Mabe Village, where you likely located your first Secret Seashell and were taunted with its mysterious purpose. The Seashell Mansion is where these things come into play, but you can’t get to it and use it before you’ve beaten the second dungeon, the Bottle Grotto. If you haven’t beaten this yet just keep playing the game, the Secret Seashells will factor in later. Once you do complete it, you can start collecting and trading these things in.
The Seashell Mansion is located to the east, past Ukuku Prairie. Walk through there and you should see it, but if not just head to the Animal Village and Yarna Desert then check around the area. Once located all you need to do is head there any time you have a new set of 5 seashells. Once you have 5 you will receive a Piece of Heart and an additional Secret Seashell. Come back any time you earn another set of five and you’ll be rewarded each time. Once you reach more than 20 seashells the darkness that has haunted the Seashell Mansion will dissipate earning you a very handsome reward.
And that’s what to do with Secret Seashells in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch. Be sure to check every nook and cranny of Koholint Island to be sure you find them all.
