How to Save in Luigi’s Mansion 3
So there is no actual menu or save point for you to interact with in the game. Instead, the game saves each time you enter a new room in the hotel. However, you do need to keep in mind that if you rush from room to room very quickly it will not save every time you go into a new room. The game itself says that spending about 10 seconds in a given room the next room they enter will trigger a save.
There are two types of saves. Autosaves and Story Checkpoints
There are multiple save types in the game though. Different save files will be story checkpoints. These files are created at good stopping points in the game. While a standard autosave will show a green “Saving” text at the bottom right of the screen, these story checkpoints will show a yellow “Saving” text with a flag.
Using these story checkpoint you can redo specific parts of the game that you may have did earlier.
