When it comes down to it, Mafia 3 is all about making money. Sure, there’s a revenge plot to enjoy, and a ton of open world mechanics to mess around with, but being about the mob, money is king. And making sure your enemies don’t have more cash than you can be more important than anything else. So, of course, players are constantly asking how to make money in Mafia 3. Luckily a new method has been discovered that makes earning cash pretty simple and easy.

This method becomes available partway through the game, and can be lost if you don’t pay attention to the story, so make sure you are watching for the trigger. Once you have all three underbosses in your crew, eventually you’ll be given a mission that starts with speaking to Donovan in the downtown area of the city. This presents you with two options: Blackmail and Construction. Choose Blackmail and get ready to earn some dough.

This mission tasks you with both collecting dead drops, and following bagmen around the city. You can avoid the dead drops for now, the bagmen are the real moneymakers. Find one, they should be in pretty obvious black cars with a red blip on the radar, and follow it for awhile. Eventually they’ll reach their destination, where you want to take them out, grenades do the trick most of the time, or just wait for them to hop out and fire off some headshots. Then head in and grab the money, which should amount to $3,000-$5,000.

The key is to make sure you don’t complete the entirety of this mission, which will make more bagmen spawn around the area. Just go do some other things for a while and come back whenever you want to make more money in Mafia 3. They should respawn after a few minutes, giving you a decent, steady stream of cash. Just be sure to pop back to your safe to store it every once in a while, otherwise you’ll lose half of everything you have on you at death.

So far this is the best answer that has been discovered for how to make money in Mafia 3. We’ll keep an eye out for newer and better alternatives, so be sure to let us know in the comments if you have a different method of making money in Mafia 3 and we’ll check it out.
