No Man’s Sky Guide: How To Find/Collect Heridium

One of the first things you have to do in No Man’s Sky is collect 200 pieces of Heridium to power your ship. Heridium can be hard to find unless you know where to look for it.

The cunning thing about Heridium when you first play No Man’s Sky is that the game doesn’t tell you where to look for it. Even if you use your scanner, it may not show up for you. I walked aimlessly on the ground for 30 minutes and kept getting other resources instead.

The first thing you should do is not look on the ground and search for rectangular rock-like structures that glow blue. If you get close enough, you may see the image we posted above. It will tell you “Heridium”,  so you can use your mine gun to get as many as you can. Just start destroying the whole block of rocks and you should have enough to power up the spaceship.

The other items that you need for the ship are easy to find. Just farm as many resources as you can on the planet you are on and you should have done enough to finally fly away. Patience is the key to surviving this game.
