Two of the most important resources that you need for your spaceship in No Man’s Sky are Plutonium and Thanium9. Here are ways you and find both of them.

Plutonium is important in No Man’s Sky because it powers your spaceship’s “Launch Thrust”. Without the “Launch Thrust” charged, you won’t be able to fly away from a planet. Basically, you will be stranded without it.

Have no fear because Plutonium is somewhat easy to find. If you press on the scanner, it should be marked with a red icon. Plutonium can be found by looking at red crystal-like structures that stick out from the ground. If you see spiky red crystals, use your mining beam to grab lots of Plutonium. You can use Plutonium to also help charge your mining beam if you need to.

Thanium9 is easy to find when you are up in space. Do you see all of the asteroids flying near all of the planets? Just press X to shoot the asteroids and they have lots and lots of Thanium9 for you to collect. It’s the best method I found for finding this resource.

Why is Thanium9 important in No Man’s Sky? Well it charges your spaceship’s “Pulse Engine”. The Pulse Engine allows your ship to travel faster in space by holding down the R1 and L1 buttons together. This method is faster to travel in space than just holding down the circle button.
