PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is the newest Battle Royale style game to hit steam and it’s grown incredibly popular in just a short while. While it’s a lot of fun to play, it’s still in Early Access so there are some bugs here and there. The game is mostly played in the third person, but you can slide into first person mode to aim down the sights of any weapon.
Aiming down sights is a little different in Battlegrounds as there are two ways to do it. You can ADS in first person mode, and you can zoom in while in the third person.
Let’s start with Aiming Down Sights in the first person. To aim down sight in first person in Battlegrounds you simply need to tap the right mouse button. This will bring up your sights, including any attachments that you might have added to your gun in terms of scopes. To get out of ADS, you’ll need to click the button again.
For zooming in the third person, you need to hold down the right mouse button on click. Since aiming down sights is one of the only way to take full advantage of the more powerful scopes in the game, long range shots are a lot easier when you have capable weapons with scopes.
Despite the rumors of needing numerous clicks to zoom in. The default way to Aim Down Sights is to simply tap the right mouse button, then tap it again to go back to third person.
Update: After the latest patch, there is a new control option that will allow you to use a different control scheme that allows for holding down the Left Trigger to Aim Down Sights which is something more familiar for shooter players. This preset is called “Type B”.
