Pokemon Go Guide: How To Get More Candy For Your Pokemon Buddy

Pokemon Go originally released back in July to incredible popularity that has since dwindled a bit. Niactic is hoping that their latest update will bring a lot of those that left the game back with the addition of Pokemon buddies, which allows you to earn candy from your Pokemon.

As we’ve told you in other guides, the Pokemon buddy update is pretty simple. You just have to pick a Pokemon to be your buddy, which you can switch out at anytime.

The goal of having a Pokemon buddy is to earn candy for that Pokemon, which was previously only possible by either catching another of that type of Pokemon’s evolutionary stages, or transferring one of that type of Pokemon to Professor Willow.

There are certain distances you must walk with certain types of Pokemon to earn candy, which you can see in this guide.

As of right now, doing this will only give you one candy, with some reports of maybe a few. This had us wondering if there was any possible way to boost this, such as choosing to walk a longer distance. Sadly, this is not the case, and there are no special items that you can use to earn extra either.

The only real thing you can do to earn more Pokemon candy for your Pokemon buddy is simply to just walk more and more, which shouldn’t be too much of a problem for those that are out Pokemon hunting often enough anyways.
