Charmander is one of the most well-known Pokemon in the series, and he does make an appearance as Leon’s Pokemon Partner during the story, but you can also get yourself a Charmander to use in Pokemon Sword and Shield.  This guide will explain what you need to do to get Charmander.

Return to Hop’s house after the story is over

First of all, you have to know that Charmander is only available once you’ve completed the main story.  Once you’ve completed it you will go back to Hop’s house which is located all the way back at the beginning of the game.  You will go up into Leon’s room (up the stairs and towards the right) and you will see a Poke Ball sitting in the middle of the carpet.

After you read a note from Leon explaining that he has left Charmander for you, you will be able to collect and put Charmander in your party or collection.  The Charmander can be leveled up and then evolved into a Charizard that is able to Gigantamax
