PS5 When Does it Come Out – PS5 Release Date

The PS5 is no secret.  Sony revealed that they do indeed have a new PlayStation console in the works and they’ve also announced when it will come out.  The PS5 is set for a “Holiday 2020” release date, which means that the console will likely arrive sometime between November and December.

When is Holiday 2020?

The PlayStation 5 releasing in the holiday window means that it will arrive in time for consumers to purchase the console during the holiday shopping season.  For most people, this will be between Black Friday (The day after Thanksgiving) and Christmas.  However, the PS5 could release a little bit sooner than that as well.

The PlayStation 4 released in early November 2013.  More specifically, the PlayStation 4 launched on November 15th, 2013.  We’ll have to wait for Sony to announce the exact timing for when the PS5 will come out, but it’s a safe bet to say that the console will come out between November 1st and November 29th.  Black Friday is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year in North America so Sony would probably not miss this date for the PlayStation 5 release.

Sony announced the exact release of the PlayStation in Summer

The PlayStation 5 release date will likely be revealed by Sony later next year.  Last time around with the PlayStation 4, Sony announced that console during the Summer before the holiday season.

This time around though, Sony could definitely announce sooner rather than later.  E3 2020 should be full of announcements regarding the next generation and Sony could give everyone the exact release date for the PS5.  It’s safe to say though Sony won’t stray too far away from what worked so well for them in this current generation.

Which means that we’ll likely see plenty of PS5 exclusive games.
