Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a very different take on the original 3D platformer as it has now moved to a level based 2D platformer. The game still maintains some of the 3D platformer overworld structure where you have to navigate between the individual chapters. One of the obstacles that will get in your way during exploration are that of Paywalls, though not the kind you be be thinking about. This guide will explain how you can get past these Paywalls in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
Paywalls in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair are in the form of actual gates that block your progress. Those who played the original Yooka-Laylee should recognize the person atop the Paywall as Trowzer, who sold you new moves in the first game. This time around, he is waiting for you to pay him off to get past the Paywall.
There are two collectible items in this game you might think would be used here, but the one you need to pay off Trowzer here are known as T.W.I.T. coins. These will vary depending on how far in the game you get, so you will need to work to collect as many of these as possible to avoid being blocked off in your progress.
T.W.I.T. coins can be found within each chapter, with five of these available in every one of them. You can find these in many different types of areas, so you really have to look everywhere you can within the level to find them all. These can certainly be difficult to find, so you’ll likely find yourself replaying through levels to find more.
