Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair features many of the elements that make 2D platformers great, including multiple different collectibles during the game. One of these are known as T.W.I.T. Coins, which we already explained how to get in another guide, but it can be frustrating when you lose them as a result of dying. This guide will explain how you can prevent that from happening with a little help in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.

Each stage has five T.W.I.T. Coins to collect, with the game recording you as getting one once you reach a checkpoint. If you happened to get a coin since the last checkpoint and die before reaching another, you will lose that coin and have to collect it again. However, there is a way around this that can make your life a whole lot easier.

This method is known as the T.W.I.T. Coin Banker Tonic, which you can collect after your first Pagie challenge. Once you complete this Pagie challenge, the landscape will alter, allowing you to grab the blue bottle Tonic by Vendi. You must then open up your menu and go to the Tonic tab to purchase the Tonic for use.

After doing this, you can equip the Tonic to now instantly save record of your T.W.I.T. Coin collection when you get each one regardless of if you reach a checkpoint before dying. This is a major help in the game for some of the tougher to reach coins, but it does come at the cost of a -0.2 Quill Bonus. This means you’ll get less overall Quills at the end of the level, which is a small price to pay for this.
