While Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a 2D platformer, the game adopts the overworld style you would expect more from a 3D platformer. This means you have to solve different puzzles to gain access to new stages and move forward in the overworld, which itself is pretty decently sized and spaced out. As a result, having the ability to warp around on the map would be very helpful the deeper you get into the game and this guide will explain how you can do just that.
Whether you need to go back to find more Quills, have something that allows you to gain access to a new area in the past, or even just want to tackle the Impossible Lair from deeper into the game, you will need to backtrack on the map at times. This is where the warp mechanic comes in really handy as a method of fast travel to save you a lot of time.
To use the warp mechanic in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, first open up the map and you can either use the cursor to move around or just press ZR and ZL to automatically switch between chapters in order. For every chapter in the game that you have completed you will see an option to select it to warp. If there are chapters that you have showing up, but have not played, you cannot currently choose them as a warp point.
