According to Michael Pachter, an industry analyst at Wedbush, he believes that some of the major games that are coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will probably arrive on next-gen consoles as well. Speaking in a recent podcast on Gamertag Radio, Pachter explained that both The Last of Us and GTA V would probably be next-gen titles as well.
When asked about the possibility of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic survival title arriving on PS4 as well as PS3, Pachter speculates:
“First party…like what’s The Last of Us going to be? That’s coming out in June. Is it going to be next-gen too? Probably. My guess is that thing gets on to the next-gen. Watch Dogs id next-gen and current-gen.”
He believes that the games that are currently in development are following similar development cycles to games that will arrive after or with the new consoles.
“A lot of guys are doing cross-gen development but it’s really hard to be exclusive, it really is.”
E3 is likely to be fully loaded with news for the next-gen consoles, what games are arriving where and when. We’ll likely hear if Pachter’s predictions come true by then.
