Rovio has announced a sequel to Angry Birds Star Wars, which is quite understandably titled Angry Birds Star Wars II. The game will launch on September 19. This game however draws upon the Prequel Trilogy and hence can be considered a prequel. It messes up the title but who cares? It has an impressive character roster with access to over 30 different avian projectiles. For the first time in an Angry Birds game, it will be possible to choose sides with players being given the option to “Join The Pork Side”. However, you’re warned that Jar-Jar Binks may be present in the game as Rovio’s own announcements regarding the infamous character contradict one another.

Also, Hasbro is launching over 30 TELEPODS figures to compliment the game’s roster. Placing these figures onto your phone or tablet camera will scan your character of choice directly into the game, allowing you to select new characters on the fly. The launch date for TELEPODS hasn’t been confirmed though it is expected to arrive sometime in September. The following video is meant to explain how the TELEPODS will work –

Rovio also promises the launch of new toys, plush, books, apparel and other assorted merchandise on September 19.
