Electronic Arts has announced today that they are continuing their EA Play event for E3 for 2018.  The publisher will be hosting another off-site event at the Hollywood Palladium from June 9th through the 11th.  At this event, attendees will be able to go hands-on with Battlefield 2018 and will get an inside look at Bioware’s Anthem.

Little is known about the Battlefield game that’s releasing in 2018, but having this available for hands-on gameplay is certainly telling that we’re about to hear a lot more about the shooter.  These two titles are definitely the most anticipated EA games in the pipeline, but EA Play will also feature others games.  This includes hands-on access for EA Sports titles for the coming year.

The next Battlefield game has yet to be actually announced at this point.  The closest thing that we’ve got to this was EA’s recent quarterly financial report that confirmed a new Battlefield game for the fall.  Anthem, on the other hand, will not be arriving in 2018 as originally expected.   EA cited the release of the new Battlefield 2018 game as one of the reasons that Anthem was being pushed into 2019.

There has been a lot of speculation regarding what the next Battlefield game will be, with fans tugging the developers in multiple directions.  There are sects of Battlefield players who would like to see the series return to modern combat.  While others would love nothing more than to see a revisit to the Bad Company series of games.  We’ll likely be hearing all about it very shortly.

As they’ve done for the past few years, EA Play features an on-site component and and off-site component.  Those who attend the event will be able to access the hands-on gameplay, while those that can’t make it out to Los Angeles can tune in for live streams from the event.

E3 2018 will take place in Los Angeles, CA from June 12th to June 14th.  The length of E3 has expanded in recent years due to publishing getting out in front of the event with special press conferences that begin the weekend prior to the start of the convention.
